This feature spread was designed for an article relating to speedrunning, a subculture of competitive video-gaming where players challenge one another to complete games in the fastest time possible.

The layout intends to draw parallels between video game speedruns and athletic marathons through iconography that references both subjects. I chose a vibrant palette because classic games often utilize color to help render their worlds as graphical fidelity was still in its infancy.
