ABYSS MAGAZINE

ABYSS is a concept for a magazine related to cosmic horror, a subgenre of horror that focuses on the fear of the unknownmysteries of the universe. An element that appears throughout many of my personal pieces is exploring the misunderstood, which is the core of cosmic horror, albeit with much more sinister undertones. 

I decided to focus on the ominous, alien nature of cosmic horror  by utilizing cryptic symbolism, referencing works of writers such  as H.P. Lovecraft,  and utilizing runic typography throughout the  various feature concepts.
